science outreach

to schools and community groups

Having taught secondary science for 8 years, Dave (DBS checked) will tailor sessions to your curriculum. For a flavour of what we can offer, have a look at our primary school outreach brochure:

NEW: We have developed some mini-STEM projects that could be set as home learning or could be used in school. Please let us know how you use them.

COVID-19: We are still able to provide CPD and outreach sessions but are not currently offering the Science Centre in a Van twilight sessions for families. Contact Dave to see how we can work within your school's risk assessment.

We visited 5 EYFS settings during June 2016 to explore rainforests thanks to funding from the British Ecological Society.
In August 2015, we did a session on sound at Mary P's, Tewkesbury.
In November 2018, we welcomed a local nursery to the science centre for a session on space.
Contact us if you would like us to work with your EYFS setting.

Assemblies, workshops & clubs

Our one hour parent and child "science at home" sessions have been really successful at engaging your wider community with science.
We have a number of national curriculum linked workshops and assemblies that we can deliver. We will work with you to fit with your school's curriculum and requirements.
We can also facilitate regular science clubs and deliver CPD sessions on investigations and demonstrations for staff.
For further details, look at the above pdf and contact us if your school would like to join in!

Badges and certificates

We can do a one-off evening or a series of regular sessions that count towards a science badge or CREST award. We have worked with children of all ages across the county with Girlguiding, Scouts, Boys Brigade and Cheltenham Borough Homes.
Contact us if you would like us to visit your group.
